Inspired by Paula Vogel’s playwriting “Bake-Off” process, 4:48
is a creative sprint to the finish. Four playwrights (Atlanta-based scribes Johnny Drago, Daryl Fazio
, Michael Develle Winn
and me!), will lock themselves away for two-days of furious writing, at the end of which they'll have four brand new plays all based around the same source material. After a swift workshop process, all of the material will be presented marathon-style to the public. Saturday July 11th at Emory's Schwartz Theatre Lab. Start time and reading schedule TBD so check back in early July.Breaking Ground
is Theater Emory
's annual summer "open studio" series. Over the course of three weeks, TE offers up the Schwartz Theatre Lab to invited artists in the very early stages of their creative process. Invited artists are given one week of development time that culminates in a presentation of the work that's been done. All events are free and open to the public.
